The 1841 Census for Ashington, Somerset shows John as head of the house and with him are Eliza aged 17 and Mary Ann aged 15 - John's wife Jane appears to have died by the date of the Census.
The 1851 Census for Ashington shows John as head of the house and living with him are his son-in-law and wife (John's daughter Mary) and their children. John's occupation is shown as an Agricultural Labourer.
In the 1861 Census for Ashington the situation is the same as the previous census.
In the 1971 Census John is still living at Ashington with Mary and those of her children still at home, but Mary is shown as the head of the household.
