Terry Greene Perkins served during the Civil War as a private in company #132 Indian Volunteers. He was enrolled 2 May 1864 and discharged 7 Sep 1864 at Indinapolis. Before enlistment he lived in Shelby county, Indiana and returned there after service.
Suffered an attack of "Camp Fever" when in rout from Nashville, TN and Louisville, KY for mustering out. This later became the basis for a pension claim.

he received a statement in claim for pension from his brother, John V. Perkins dated 31 Dec 1883. His brother stated he had lived within a half mile of Terry during 1864, 1865, 1866, and within a quarter mile from Jan 1868 to the date of the affidavit. His brother said he had "worked with, and for him, more or less each and every year except 1867."

Robinson of said county...''
``Petitioner further represents that thesaid T G Perkins deceased left him surviving young his widow, Peter S. Perkins, Ellen M. Steel, Morton A Smith, John M. Perkins and Robert Perkins; and Leo Perkins and Florence Perkins his grand children''
