| ``1800, 26 July 1800---9 November 1801 NELSON COUNTY KY PROBATE BOOK A, Page 581 In the name of God Amen. I John Marshall of the County of Nelson of the State of Kentucky being in perfect health but bearing to mind the uncertainty of human life; do make and ordain this my last will and testament (that is to say) principally and first of all I recomend my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it and my body I recommend to the earth from whence it came and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with in this life --I give demuse and dispose of the same in the following manner,-----,viz, I give and bequeath unto my son Robert Marshall the sum of five shillings current money of Kentucky--I give and bequeath unto my daughter Ellinder Williams the sum of five shillings like money--I give and bequeath unto my son Mark Marshall the like sum of five shillings like money and all my wearing clothes. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Blue the like sum of five shillings like money. I give and bequeath unto my son John Marshall the like sum of five shillings like money. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Hannah Chambers the one half of my estate of lands money or stock or whatever it may consist of after paying the aforesaid Legace and lastly I give and bequeath to my wife Margaret Marshall the other half of my Estate whatever it may consist of after paying the legacees as was said before for use and benefit forever to be by her freely------ed and enjoyed-- I also constitute and appoint George Burkheart to be my sole executor of this my last will and testament ; and I do hereby utterly revoke and disan---l all and every other former testament, wills, legacees, bequests and executors by me in any wise mentioned willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament IN witness whereof I give hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of July one thousand eight hundred NB. It is my pleasure that Jesse Williams my grandson should have a horse saddle and bridle out of my estate before it is divided in the manner mentioned above.
