I, James Campbell of the Township of Tilbury East in the County of Kent and Province of Ontario. Yeoman declare this to be my last will and testament.
I give and bequeath to my daughters Mary Ann and Ellen Agnes all the fixtures, prints, books, plates, linen, china, provisions, household goods, furniture, chattels and effects (other than money or securities for money) which shall at my death be in or about my dwelling house or the outbuildings or grounds immediately connected therewith, exclusive of buggy and other conveyances and farm stock and farm implements.
I give and bequeath to my son Matthew one hundred dollars.
I give and bequeath to my son James William one hundred dollars.
I give and bequeath to my son John Isaac one hundred dollars.
I give and bequeath to my youngest son Charles Thomas his heirs and assigns for ever the North West half of Lot Number Four in the Ninth Concession of the said Township of Tilbury East containing by admeasurement one hundred acres, more or less, on condition that he shall provide thereon for my said daughters Mary Ann and Ellen Agnes so long as they remain unmarried and wish to reside there, a comfortable home. But my said son shall be guided in all matters by the advice of my said daughter Mary Ann until he attain the full age of twenty-two and until then he shall not be at liberty to sell or in any way encumber the said property without her consent in writing first had and obtained.
I give and bequeath to my said daughter Mary Ann, her heirs and assigns for ever the North West half of lot Number Five in the Ninth Concession of the said Township of Tilbury East, containing one hundred acres, more or less.
I give and bequeath to my said daughter Ellen Agnes, her heirs and assigns for ever the South East half of lot Number Five in the Seventh Concession of the said Township of Tilbury East containing by admeasurement one hundred acres, more or less.
I give and bequeath to my said son Charles Thomas and my said daughters Mary Ann and Ellen Agnes, all the farm stock and farm implements (including buggy [Dinaseral?] and other conveyances) all the grain, whether harvested or thrashed or not soewn and wheresoever, whether growing or harvested and also all monies and securities for money and all other property not hereinbefore devised of which I shall be possessed at the time of my death, to share and share alike after payment first there out of all my just and lawful debts and funeral expenses and the legacies hereinbefore devised to my said sons Matthew, James, William, and John Thomas.
And I hereby appoint my said daughter Mary Ann and Donald R. Farquharson of Tilbury East aforesaid executors of this my will.
In witness whereof I have hereinto set my hand and seal this fifth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety three James Campbell.
Signed by the said testator as his last will and testament in the presence of us present at the same time, who at his request, in his presence and in the presence of each other, have aubscribed our names as witness.
