``Jessie Matilda McGlothlin, 68, died Wednesday, May 3rd at 5:30pm, in the Sacred Heart Hospital in Fort Madison, IA. She had been in ill health for several years and critically ill for the past two months.
She was born September 6, 1898 in Knox County, Mo, the daughter of the late Garret W. and Mary (Snow) Moncrief. She married C. T. McGlothlin May 20, 1920 in Macon, who survives. Mr. and Mrs. McGlothlin moved to LaPlata from Fort Madison in 1950.
She is also survived by three sons: Charles, Fort Madison; laVern, Jefferson City; and Robert of Baton Rough, LA; three daughters; Mrs. Dennis (Naomi) Morrison of Burlington, IA; Mrs. Floyd (Hazel) Welch of Fort Madison; Mrs. Tommy (Frances) Nolte of Denver, Co; fifteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, six sisters; Mrs. Leona Sheehan and Mrs. Beulah Jennings, both of Knox, IN; Mrs. George Winfield of Kahoka; Mrs. Cecil Williams of Brashear; Mrs. Pat Burch of Las Vegas, NV; and Mrs. Norena Jack of Chula Vista, CA.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Dietsch, Fort Madison, in March 1966 and two sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2:00 in the Christian Church with the Rev. Grover Self, minister of the Fort Madison Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial was in the LaPlata Cemetery.
Bearers were John Moncrief, Herbert Moncrief, Leon Moncrief, Edgar Moncrief, Francis Moncrief and Jett Moncrief.
The body was at the Christie Funeral Chapel until taken to the church at 1:00 Saturday.
