Funeral Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Wilson Funeral Home for John William Snow who died at Kirksville after a long illness early Friday, March 13. He was ninety-three years, one month, and six days of age.
The son of Richard and Elizabeth Davis Snow, he was bon February 7, 1871 in Knox County. He was married in August, 1893 to Stella Sides who preceded him in death. Later he was married to Rachel A. Burns who preceded him in death February 15, 1932.
Surviving are six children, Dewey Snow of Quincy, Illinois, Russell snow and Denver Snow of Independence, Iowa, Davis and Ernest Snow of Novelty and Delbert Snow of Santa Barbara, California; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren as well as one brother, Ed Snow, of Mexico.
Preceding him in death are one daughter, two son, six sisters, two brothers and one grandchild.
He farmed all his live in the Hazel Dell Community and was a member of the Hazel Dell Christian Church.
Rev. Carroll Kakac was the clergyman in charge of the services with interment in Hazel Dell Cemetery. Music was furnished by Mrs. Frank Vaughn and Mrs. M.L. Edwards with Mrs. Raymond Berry at the organ.
Bearers were Madison Belt, Lyle Collins, Paul Wright, Evan Campbell, John Moncrief and Fred Beagley.
