| ``Mary L. Moncrief, ninety, died at the Greentop Rest Home Thursday morning, December 11. She had not been well the past year. Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at the Baptist Church in LaPlata, conducted by Rev. Claud Thompson. The daughter of Richard and Elizabeth Snow, she was born in the eastern part of Macon County October 10, 1868 and spent her entire life in the community. On October 20, 1888 she was married to Garrett Moncrief. They celebrated their 60th anniversary in 1948. They were the parents of twelve children. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1951; a daughter, Mary, in 1916; a son, Wilse (sic) Robert in 1936; her father, mother, one brother and one sister. Surviving are eight daughters, Anna Davold of Fort Madison, Iowa, Jessie McGlothlin of LaPlata, Pearl Winefield of Davenport, Iowa, Norine Jack of Spring Valley, California, Beaulah Jennings of Moberly, Eva Kawatzazer of Arcadia, California, Alice Williams of Brashear, Leona Skeeham of Knox, Indiana; and two sons, Clarence and Willie of Del Mar, California. Also surviving are one sister, Alice Moncrief of Fulton and three brothers, Edd (sic) of Mexico and Will and Orville of LaPlata; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild as well as other relatives.
