I was born in Iowa in the year 1864.  And lived there in Shellsburg Benton Co Iowa until I was 19 years old.  My mother died when I was only 6 year old.  Father had a farm of 90 acres just out side the limits of Shellsburg.  I have four sisters and three brothers.  In the year of 1883 month of Sep I went to Nebraska to live with my father and youngest brother.  My sisters were all married and my two oldest brothers had left the home before father sold his farm in Iowa.  Fathers farm in Nebraska was six miles north east of Nelson Neb.  I kept house for my father until Feb 15, 1890.  On which date I was married to John S Gault.  We lived with my father until in Dec of that same year.  When we moved to southern Oregon to live.  But after staying there one summer we thought it best to go back to Neb and improve our farm.  So we arrived at Nelson on the first day of Oct 1892.
