My connection with this village is through my 3x gt g'parents John & Hannah BRUCE who were married in the parish church on 12 May 1783. My 2x gt g'parents Edward & Ann BRUCE also married here on 3 Nov 1839. In addition, my 3x gt g'parents Benjamin & Sarah JARROD lived in the village from the late 1820s onwards. My 2x gt g'father Henry JARROD married his wife Mary here on 13 Dec 1845, raising 10 children in the village. Subsequently my gt g'mother Jessie was born in the village, and she married Charles BRUCE here on Christmas Day 1896. My g'father Geoff (Charles) and my father Dennis were also born here in 1897 and 1921. My last BRUCE connection with the village was Mary, my gt aunt who lived here until shortly before her death in 1997.
