He worked for the Hare Estate as a general labourer, and also managed the cricket ground. He loved fishing and smoking his pipe. Joan remembers him as being a nice old man. He died on 19 July 1943 and is buried at Stow Bardolph with Eliza. |
Before she married, she worked as a domestic servant for a butcher, (William Bunkall) in the High Steet in Downham. (ref: 1871 Census for Downham.) She died on 2 Dec 1933 after a long illness, and is buried at Stow Bardolph with Robert. |

Beatrice was Eliza's illegitimate daughter,born in 1880. Beatrice married Ernest Gage MARTIN, and had one daughter, Phyllis. She appears to have lived with her grandparents William and Susan, in Stow Bardolph, as that is where she is on the
