Geoff and Joyce BRUCE

geoff Geoff BRUCE (baptised Charles Henry) was born on 13th September 1897 at Station Rd, West Dereham to Charles and Jessie BRUCE (née JARROD). He was Jessie's second child after Millie. He served as Sergeant in the 2nd Coldstream Guards. Geoff died on 23rd April 1973 and is buried with Joyce at Stoke Ferry cemetery.

joyce Joyce Millicent DELLOW was born on 3rd January 1899 to Harry George and Fanny DELLOW (née SHILCOCK) in Wimbledon. She was living in Aldershot at the time of her wedding. Joyce had an older sister Ida (b 1897), and a brother Philip Shilcock(b 1901) who both died in 1987. Joyce died on 19th January 1980 and is also buried at Stoke Ferry cemetery.


After their marriage in 1921 (at Farnham Register Office), Joyce and Geoff moved back to Norfolk. Geoff & Joyce at Boughton in Sept 1921, a month before the birth of my father, Dennis. They lived at Boughton, then Stoke Ferry in Norfolk. and had five children: Philip(1919-2004), Dennis (1921-1959), Raymond (b 1925), Nona (b 1927) and Mervyn (b 1934). The younger three are still alive and living in Norfolk and Hertfordshire. Joyce & Geoff with 3 grandchildren
