My connection with this village is threefold. My 3x gt g'mother Hannah BRUCE(née HARPLEY)lived here with her first husband, Philip GOODRICK. Her two children with him were both baptised & buried here, as was Philip. Her brother Daniel HARPLEY married and raised his family in the village too. One of his grandsons (Joseph) was publican at the Red Hart. Several generations of my JARROD cousins lived here from 1822 onwards. I believe their descendants still live in the village today. |
