Comments

If a person is found to be in the Workhouse or in Jail....please remember that they could be....employees.

Also please remember that times were SO different and many ordinary people ended up there at various times through unusual circumstances. There was NO benefit as we know it today....so please don't judge them too harshly.

Please also note that most of the names found herein have been taken from our Swansea Evening Post. In past years it was known as the South Wales Daily Post, The Leader, and there was a very old paper called 'The Cambrian'. The newspapers are now mostly on microfilm in our city library.

More recent ones are in large binders .

Some surnames are from other parts of the country but they still may be of interest to you leading to ancestors as yet unknown........so I wish you well.
