WOOD / WALKER:
possible 3rd great grandfather and possible father of James Harrison WOOD
NOTE: All info on John Hodgens Flanders WOOD is family legend.
To date I have no documentation supporting J.H.F. Wood.
The only issue is the Mississippi connection which does hold water. I am not
discounting J. H. F. WOOD, I simply need proof!
John Hodgen Flanders WOOD born abt 1810/15 married Rose
WALKER
Rose died of a small-pox epidemic while she and John were in Arkansas
and is buried there. John came back to KY and took their two kids
James H. and
Mariah WOOD to Natchez, Mississippi.
Children of John and Rose Wood:
1) James Harrison WOOD - (see below for info)
2) Mariah WOOD - Mariah never married. Mariah stayed
in Mississippi and was said to have owned a plantation.
John H. F. Wood had a brother Seymore/Seymour WOOD also
buried at Cub Run.

Note: Some sources state that Solomon Seymour WOOD was son of
Ezra WOOD Jr, Ezra Jr. came to KY around 1818 from Ontario County
New York as part of the Grainger Land deal. Ezra WOOD Sr., came from Woodstock,
Vermont, (Windsor County) to New York Ezra WOOD
MISSISSIPPI CONNECTION: There are two stories that support a possible
or probable link between the WOOD line of KY and the WOOD
line in Natchez, Mississippi. (Adams County)
NEW April 2002: 1910 Census for Edmonson Co KY for Ida Mae Wood Coble states
that her father James H. Wood was from Mississippi.
NEW July 4th 2002: Ezra WOOD connection
WOOD / STRATTON: I have more proof supporting that Ezra WOOD and
Eunice Stratton are the parents of James Harrison WOOD.
Please click Ezra WOOD connection to see the data
supporting an Ezra WOOD connection.
