At an impressive ceremony witnessed by many Sheboygan county friends, Miss
Isabelle L. Crosby of Fond du Lac became the bride of Jerry F. Donohue of
Milwaukee on Wednesday morning, June (?) (at St. Patri)ck's church in Fond
The marriage ceremony was performed by the Rev. Cyril P. Dono(hue S.J.) of
Weston, Mass., a broth(er of the groom), who also sang the Nuptial High
Mass. Miss Blanche Bouser of Plymouth and Hugh J. Crosby brother (of the
bride) (were the attendants of the) couple. Little Miss Marjorie Redmond,
niece of (can't read) acted as flower girl.
The bride wore a gown of orchid chiff(on) with or(chid velvet) (and wore a
large hat ornament with a bow. Her bouquet consisted of yel(low roses?).
Miss Bouser dressed in aquamarine chiffon trimmed with matching velvet. Her
hat of egg shell (can't read) and she carried a bouquet of roses and
larkspur. The little flower girl was dressed in a delicate shade of yellow
and carried a basket of small garden flowers.
During the offertory of the mass, Jack Manley of Berkeley, Cal., played
Gounoud's "Ave Maria," as a violin solo, accompanied by Miss Lucine Marcoux.
A wedding breakfast was served at the Hearthside, covers being laid for 24
guests, followed by a reception at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. J.J.
Crosby, Rosendale avenue limits.
Mr. and Mrs. Donohue left by motor for a trip through the East and on their
return will reside in Milwaukee where the groom has been engaged in
insurance and real estate since his graduation from Marquette university.
The bride is a graduate of Oshkosh State Normal and for the past five years
has been principal of the Washington school at North Fond du Lac.
Both the bride and the bridegroom were former residents of Sheboygan county,
their parents having been residents in the town of Mitchell. A surprise
shower was given in honor of the bride at the Coffee Shop a week before the
Guests from out-of-town who attended the wedding were the Rev. Cyril P.
Donohue of Weston, Mass.; Mr. and Mrs. George Donohue and daughter, Anna
Marie, Washington, D.C.; Mr. and Mrs. Irving Murray and MIss Margaret and
Jack Manley, Berkeley, Cal.; the Rev. D.J. Garvey, Brandon; Miss Agnes
Fitzpatrick, Sheboygan, and Miss Blanche Bouser, Plymouth.
