Silver Event Is Observed By Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Behring

The silver anniversary of marriage for Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Behring, 218 East Park Lane, Kohler, began solemnly with a church service Sunday and continued with a series of festivities during the rest of the hours that relatives and friends shared. Date of the wedding was Aug. 1, 1934.

Celebrant of the 7:30 o'clock high mass at St. John the Evangelist Church, Kohler, was the Rev. William E. Cox. The mass was sung by the adult choir and at the offertory, Atty. Gerard A. Desmond did the “Ave Maria.” Charles M. Balzer was at the organ.

After the mass, the Behrings renewed marriage vows and received a special blessing.

Immediate family was entertained at dinner by the son and daughter-in-law of the anniversary pair, Mr. and Mrs. James Behring, 118 East Park Lane, Kohler.

Starting at the hour of two in the afternoon, the celebrants were hosts at an open house at St. John the Evangelist Church Hall, where a 4:40 o'clock buffet supper followed the period of sociability. Table appointments were white gladioli and silver candelabra and candles. A huge four-tier wedding cake, appropriately decorated in silver motif, was a focal point at a nearby table. The beautiful cake was made by Robert Molus of Oshkosh and was presented by him and his wife.

During the evening the group danced to the music of the Marty Boerner Duo.

In addition to gifts of silver, the couple received silver money in different arrangements, some packages having been adorned with pieces of it.

Marriage of the former Miss Julia Wagner and Mr. Behring took place at St. Wendel's Church, Cleveland, and the late Rev. H.A. Helinda performed the ceremony. Besides the son previously listed, a daughter, Mary, another son, William, both at home, and a grandchild, , comprise the family.

Guests from beyond the area were the following: The Rev.
