Descendents of Joseph and Sarah Thompson

Welcome to our web site. Joseph and Sarah Thompson, at age 50, immigrated to the USA in 1854 with their 8 children, ranging in age from 22 to under 8. They came from County Lincoln in England where they had been blacksmiths and farmers. They first settled in Ohio and then relocated to southeast Nebraska. The older sons fought in the Civil War. We enjoy learning more about our past and meeting descendents of the 8 siblings. To date we have found descendents of Thomas Edward, Smith (Shearsmith), John, and George. We believe that Elizabeth has no living kin. Browse our history and send us items you think may fit into our story. Reunions are held every 2 years and we are always excited to meet new cousins!
