Our line continues through his son John Thomas Lively who was born in 1780 in Pickens County, South Carolina. By 1852 John Lively had moved to Texas with his sons John W. Lively and Reuben Lively. Son Thomas had preceded them to Texas, presumably sometime late in 1850. In 1860, John was living with his sons, John Wesley's family home in Houston County Texas.

     John Thomas' son John Lively was the first to emigrate to Texas. He was born 25 Jul 1812 in the "12 Mile Area", South Carolina. The family moved to East Chickamauga, Walker County, Georgia. Thomas married three times. In 1832 he married Betty Bolen in South Carolina. They had six children. After Betty's death he married Emily Dickey in 1844. Emily died during the first year of their marriage from an injury from a cow. In 1848 he married Jane Dotson in Walker County, Georgia. Thomas was a cabinet maker, shoemaker, wagon maker and Methodist minister. He settled in Houston County, Texas east of Grapeland in the community of Livelyville.

     Our line continues through John Lively's sister Rachel Telitha Lively. Rachel was born 1 Dec 1829 in South Carolina. She married William Houston Dickey in Georgia where their first three children were born. The family came to Texas with other Lively and Dickey families.
