William Howell married Ann and lived in Stokes County, North Carolina in the late 1700's. The couple had six children. Several of William's children moved to Greene County, Tennessee in the 1790's.

     My fourth great grandmother was daughter, Elizabeth Howell, born about 1775. She married John thomason in 1792 in Stokes County, North Carolina, where their eight children were born. John and Elizabeth moved to Greene County, Tennessee. Elizabeth was buried in Roaring Springs Cemetery in the northern part of the county.
