Our Bailey line has been traced back to William Bailey, born in England in 1583, through his son Thomas Bailey, also born in England in 1600. Sometime before 1620 the family immigrated to Virginia.
Thomas' son Stephen was born about 1835 in Virginia, married Ann Walker, a widow, in Northumberland County, Virginia and died in 1697 in Westmoreland County. Stephen and Ann had five known children.
Stephen's son John married Elizabeth Walker and has one son John Jr. John Jr. was born about 1685 in Westmoreland County, Virginia, married Elizabeth Car and died about 1735 in Copple Parish, Westmoreland County.
John and Elizabeth had seven children: William, Elizabeth, Stephen, Judith, John, and Carr.
William Bailey married Elizabeth Blowers and had one known son, Samuel, who married Sarah Bryan about 1750 in Wilkesboro, Bladen, North Carolina. Our line descends from their son William "Flea Buck".
William "Flea Buck" Bailey was born in 1752 in Anson County, now Davie County, North Carolina, married Isabell Benson, and died at Beech Creek, Hawkins County, Tennessee. He and Isabell had six children.
About 1800 our family moved to Hawkins County, Tennessee. His son Samuel is my fourth great-grandfather. Samuel was born about 1777 and died about 1840 in Hawkins County. He married first in 1806 and had four children, one was Aggie Bailey, my ancestor. After his first wife died he married Mary Christian and had five more children.
Aggie Bailey was born in Goshen, Hawkins County, Tennessee in 1806. She married William Lewis Christian. They had four children before her death about 1830.
