The earliest we find our Davis/David family is in the late 1500's in Lantwidvoyrde, Glamorgan, Wales. Glamorgan is the southern tip of Wales. Brothers Evan, Joseph, and Samuel came from Cardiff, Wales around the early 1700's. Joseph was lost at sea during the voyage. |
Evan married Jane Rees, of Delaware, in Merion, Pennsylvania in 1711. They later moved to South Carolina.
Our direct line continues through their son Benjamin who married Rachel Port in Prince Frederick's Parish, Georgetown, South Carolina. Benjamin served in the militia during the Revolutionary War. |
