!Ranald is listed as son in his father's (Lewis Grant) will dated 28 Feb 1846 as eldest son.
His will #1718, dated written 22 Sept. 1859, and recorded 19 Apr. 1872 lists 3 sons, wife's name and son-in-law. Address 7th con. Lancaster lot 36. Yeoman. Listed as age 80 on 1871 census, Lancaster Township. Farmer Land Petition for United Empire Loyalists, April 1834, Ref: G 18/133.

I Ranald Grant in the Township of Lancaster in the County of Glengarry, Yeoman, do hereby publish this my last Will and Testament.
I devise and give to my son Donald Grant seventy acres of land being composed of a part of the South West half of lot number thirty six in the Seventh concession of the Township of Lancaster in the County of Glengarry to have and to hold the same to him the said Donald Grant his heirs and assigns for ever.
I devise and give to my son Angus Grant seventy one acres of land being composed of a part of the east half of lot number thirty six in the Seventh Concession of the Township of Lancaster in the County of Glengarry. To have and to hold the same to him the said Angus Grant and his heirs and assigns for ever; subject however to the maintenance and support of my wife Catherine Grant during her natural life by my said son Angus Grant in meat, drink, clothing, and to procure medical attendance when required during sickness which I charge upon the premises above described.
I devise and give to my son John Grant sixty acres of land being composed of the north end of lot number thirty six in the Seventh Concession of the Township of Lancaster in the County of Glengarry, the same to run the whole width of said lot, and to run ten acres in depth, to him his heirs and assigns for ever.
And I appoint Lauchlin McDougall of Alexandria in the Township of Lochiel in the County of Glengarry, Blacksmith, and John McDonald , my son in law, of lot number thirty one in the seventh concession of the Township of Lancaster, in the County of Glengarry, Yeoman, executors of this my last Will and Testament, and hereby revoking all other wills.
Signed sealed published and declared as the Last Will and Testament of the said Ranald Grant before as the undersigned witnesses who read over the said will to the said Ranald Grant before the execution thereof this twenty second day of September ad 1859.
