In 1945 Russell Albee's father had returned to England
from Germany prior to heading back to the USA for redeployment to the
Pacific (which in the end didn't happen due to the end of the war). While
in England he visited relatives in the Midlands, and also the Shakespeare
Birthplace in Stratford, when he obtained these photographs. Russell is a descendant of Edward Shakespeare, of Bean Hall Row
