Christopher Shakespeare

The 'Knowle Guild' records the existence of Christopher and Isabell Shakespeare, who were resident in Packwood in 1512 ('Shakespeareana Genealogica' page 536).

The IGI has a number of entries for children of this couple, presumably submitted by American researchers, giving various dates without giving a source, although these details possibly come from a will?:

There is another entry on the IGI for Christopher Shakespeare, possibly of Packwood, who died 15 August 1558. Is this a clue that the information regarding the children of Christopher and Isabell comes from a will?

French, in 'Shakespeareana Genealogica' (page 536) suggests (presumably because of the use of the unusual name Christopher) that the Lapworth family may descend from Christopher & Isabell. Certainly, later members of the Lapworth family are mentioned in the Rowington Parish Registers.
