Christopher Shakespeare
of Rowington
The 'Knowle Guild' records the existence of Christopher and Isabell Shakespeare, who were resident in Packwood in 1512 ('Shakespeareana Genealogica' page 536).
The IGI has a number of entries for children of this couple, presumably submitted by American researchers, giving various dates without giving a source, although these details possibly come from a will?:
| Name | Date Born | Place |
| Alice | abt 1528 or 1540 | Packwood or Meriden |
| Jane | abt 1530 | Packwood |
| Richard | abt 1530 | Packwood |
| Agnes (or Anne?) | abt 1532 or 1542 | Rowington |
| William | abt 1532 | Packwood |
| Roger | abt 1534 | Packwood |
| Christopher | abt 1536 | Rowington |
| John | abt 1538 | Packwood |
| Elizabeth | abt 1544 | Rowington |
French, in 'Shakespeareana Genealogica' (page 536) suggests (presumably because of the use of the unusual name Christopher) that the Lapworth family may descend from Christopher & Isabell. Certainly, later members of the Lapworth family are mentioned in the Rowington Parish Registers.
