William & Mary Shakespeare
of Kenilworth
|
William and Mary Shakespeare baptised a number of
children at Kenilworth:
Strangely, it seems that at least some of their children were also baptised at Coventry. This can be deduced from the names Edward and Kitty, which are unusual amongst the Shakespeares of this time. It is presumed that the Catherine baptised at Coventry is the 1798 Kitty baptised at Kenilworth. Note that the dates for these 'double' baptisms are similar.
(Additionally there is a burial for Elizabeth, 28 Feb 1808, at St Michael, Coventry). William Shakespeare and Mary Satterthwaite were married 25 Dec 1792, at St John, Coventry. James (b 1803, Kenilworth) might be the James Shakespeare who married Elizabeth Thorne, of Kenilworth, at St Mary, Warwick, 3 April 1827. |
