The information in Shakespeareana Genealogica actually comes from the Stratford Parish Register, which records the baptism of Elizabeth, daughter of Anthony Shakespeare 'of Hamton.' Anthony is mentioned as a brother of John Shakespeare, later of Clifford Chambers, in his will, as is another brother, Thomas. Henry Shakespeare, of Snitterfield, also had his children baptised at Hampton Lucy, and is named in another document as a brother of John Shakespeare, who had not yet moved to Clifford Chambers. Henry died before the date of the will, and is not mentioned by John.
It has recently been discovered that Anthony and his wife, Joan, were both also buried at Hampton Lucy.
