Following his employment with the shoe manufacturers, he operated a farm near Union Center, New York, for 9 years and subsequently returned to Johnson City where he conducted a cigar store on Avenue D for about 6 years. Since 1923 he has been employed by the superintendents of highways in the town of Union.
