FORMAN - FOREMAN FamiliesEngland to New York, New Jersey, Virginia, Kentucky and OhioOffsite Internet Links Open in New Windows! My third great-grandparents Rachel FIRMAN 1794-1874 Clark County, Kentucky to Clark County, Logan County and Delphos, Van Wert County, Ohio and Edmund TIMMONS 1790-1866 Virginia to Pickaway County, Clark County, Logan County to Delphos, Van Wert County, Ohio. Rachel's parents Benjamin FOREMAN 1745-1828 Frederick County, Virginia to Clark County, Kentucky to Clark County, Ohio and Nancy "Polly" (PARKE) 1760-1770 to before June 25, 1860 probably in Virginia. Recent research by Gerry Simmons shows she may actually be Mary Vandiver. In 1796 Benjamin bought 227 acres on the waters of the 4 Mile and Stoner Creeks a few miles south of Winchester the Clark County, Kentucky county seat. This is only 5 miles east of Boonesborough founded by Daniel Boone in 1775. His first wife was Else or Alsey ALLEN, according to Doug Allen and his father Paul W. Allen The information below appears to be incorrect parents. Recent evidence indicates "another" Benjamin is their son. Need someone related to Benjamin above to do DNA check rub test to establish the correct lineage to help find documentation. Go to the FORMAN DNA Surname Project to make connection between my Benjamin and one of these FOREMAN's. Benjamin's parents were James FOREMAN about 1723-1826 Hampshire, Berkeley, and Ohio Counties, Virginia and Rachel MOUNTZ daughter of Joseph and Catherine MOUNTZ, although Gerry Simmon's new research indicates perhaps Benjamin was a son of Benjamin Jr. brother of James? James parents were Benjamin FORMAN 1695-1751 Monmouth County, New Jersey to Frederick County, Virginia now Hampshire County, West Virginia and Elizabeth HAMILTON died about 1760 in Virginia. He lived near Hanging Rocks on the South Branch of the Potomac River along what is now West Virginia State Route 28. Benjamin's parents Thomas FORMAN 1655-1723 New York to Monmouth County, New Jersey and Mary WOOLEY 1657-after 1723 Providence, Rhode Island to New Jersey. Mary was a daughter of Emmanuel WOOLEY and Elizabeth FREEMAN both England to Rhode Island. There is some concern that Benjamin is an illegitimate son of Mary as he is listed a son of Mary in Quaker records and not as FOREMAN. Thomas' estate papers mention a negro boy appraised at 9 pounds, indicating they owned slaves at an early date in our country. This is where DNA testing may help establish this once and for all. Thomas' parents were Aaron FORMAN before 1637 - after 1698 England to Monmouth County, New Jersey and Dorothy of Oyster Bay, Nassau County, New York. Aaron's parents were Robert FORMAN 1605-1669 England to Oyster Bay, Nassau County, New York and Johanna died before 1672 Oyster Bay, Nassau County, New York.
