.. Note: The parental birthplaces in 1910 census for Charles in Umatilla Co, MO and MO, and in 1920, MO and IL, do not match those of the Charles of Linn Co, IN and OH. For Alta, they do match the Alta he married in Linn Co. Since James, a brother of Charles is in the same area in Umatilla Co OR, it is not unreasonable that the Charles of Linn Co moved there too. Unfortunately, there is no indication of where Charles and Alta died and were interred.
There can be a bit of confusion since another Charles Kirk was born about the same time in Linn County. Charles L. Kirk (di), born 21 Aug 1879 (ssdi) apparently to Andrew J Kirk and Lottie or Lotta HERRING, died 14 April 1968, Linn Co OR (di) address Albany (ssdi) married 9 May 1905 Linn Co OR (mi) Nelle DANNALS, born ca 1878 died 2 Mar 1969 age 81 Linn Co OR (di) and were living in Albany 1930 (c1930).
