The purpose of this site is to increase our knowledge of past generations and to preserve that knowledge for our children. The Segrest Family left their homeland in the german speaking area of Switzerland in the early 1700's to begin a new life in a country free from religious persecution. We believe they arrived in the Orangeburg District of SC about 1770. Many other family groups came to this "Our Country" for many other reasons. We are very proud of our heritage. Our Knowledge of the Daughtry, Allen and Simpson, Godfrey and Lindsey family surnames on the page is limited. Much genealogy research is need in this area.
