Edwin Dee, infant son of Mr. & Mrs. E. D. Carter (nee Edith Murray), died at the residence of his grandfather, B. C. Murray, Saturday, August 10, at 5:30 p.m., aged 7 months and five days. Mrs. Carter came to Denison last March in hopes the change would be a benefit to her frail baby, intending to return to her home in Bernice, La. as soon as the little one should improve, but the hoped for improvement never came. The little one seemed better for awhile, but sickened on May 08 and never recovered. He made his brave struggle for life, but in vain. With all that loving hands and tender care could do for him he gradually grew weaker until the end came, which, although daily expected was at the last sudden, just as the going out of a candle extinguished by a puff or wind. Mr. Carter, who is a cotton buyer in Bernice, La. was notified at once, and arrived in time to attend the funeral, Monday evening, at 4:30, from the residence, Interment in the family lot in Fairview Cemetery.
