    Born on Isle La Motte, Vermont. Nov. 20th, 1858. Old homestead. Lived on the island till probably about six years old when we moved to Chazy, N.Y. across the Lake. Lived there in a place that had been in the family for years & given to mother by her father Joel S. Fisk. We moved to Fort Howard Wis. (Later annexed to Green Bay & called The West side.) I was about ten years old at that time."
