Succumbs After
Brief Illness

Gilbert James Scriven, 82, of 1145 S. Ross St., Santa Ana, died this morning in Santa Ana Community Hospital after a brief illness. He was a real estate broker.

Native of Minnesota, he had lived in California 60 years and Santa Ana 30 years. He belonged to the Spurgeon Memorial Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie Kroeck Scriven; a son, Leonard G. Scriven of Orange, a daughter, Mrs. Elmer Fowler of Santa Ana; a brother, Leslie Scriven of Santa Ana, and two grandsons, Glenn Scriven of Orange and Dale Fowler of Santa Ana.

Funeral Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Winbigler Memorial chapel. Rev. R.A. Young assisted by Rev. August F. Haase will officiate. Interment will be in Fairhaven cemetery.
