NOTES

Although Jane KING had married John PRITCHARD in 1795, all her children, except William, are listed as illegitimate in the West Kington baptism register. The biblical names given to these children suggest the possibility of a non-conformity connection, and this is strengthened by the mention of William's death in the registers of Nettleton Baptist Church. It may be that the father of the 6 illegitimate children was a Baptist, and that he and Jane could not marry because John PRITCHARD was still alive.

When Job marries in 1826 whilst still a minor, he declares that he has no father or mother living to provide (or withold) the necessary consent. When Grace marries in 1838, the marriage entry records her father as Thomas PRITCHARD, a farmer.
