Granted leave by order of Gen. McCown, was "detailed by Gen. McCown at Manchester on or about 5 October 1862 to drive some stock to Tennessee.  This he did an on meeting Lt. Fitzpatrick and learrning of his purpose of gathering absentees of the Company, reported to him, in or near Knoxville.  He is still with him or under his orders wherever he may be."

Lamb, of the County of Rabun State of Georgia, do solemnly, or affirm, in presence of Almighty God, that I will henceforth faithfully support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Union of the States thereunder, and that I will in like manner abide by and faithfully support all laws and proclamations which here have been made during the existing rebellion with reference to the emancipation of slaves - SO HELP ME GOD.
