WILL OF ISAAC SHERRILL - 20 June 1850

Will of Isaac SHERRILL, b. 1776, son of William SHERRILL and Susannah Isabella LOWRENCE. Caldwell Co., NC Will Book "A", p.127

In the name of God, Amen. I, Isaac SHERRILL of the state of North Carolina and the County of Caldwell, being of sound mind and memory do make this my last will and testament. That is to say after all my just debts and funeral expenses are paid, the residue of my property I do give and allow as follows:

Item the 1st: I give to my beloved wife, Mary, the land where I now live with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging and all my stock of horses, cattle and sheep and all my household and kitchen furniture all my farming tools during her natural lifetime or so long as she remains my widow and at my said wife's death my Will is that my executors make sale of what is left and divide it equally between my daughters namely, Elizabeth KERBY, Susannah SMITH, Cecelia WATSON, Mabel WINKLER, and Mary GREEN (ward), and my will further is that after my death, if my wife thinks that she has more property left to her of any kind that she stands in need of for her use and support that my executors make sale of such property as she may think proper to give up to them and the proceeds to be equally divided to my five daughrers above named.

Second: I give to my son, John D. SHERRILL, deceased, heirs $1, which I give with all that I have heretofore given him as his share of my estate.

Third: I give to my sone, William L. SHERRILL, $1 which I give with all that I have heretofore given him as his share of my estate.

Fourth: I give to my son, Isaac R. SHERRILL, $1 which I give with all that I have heretofore given as his share of my estate.

Fifth: I give unto my daughter, Isabella's heirs $1 which I give with all that I have heretofore given her as her share of my estate.

Sixth: I gie and bequeath to my Son in law, Abraham A. SUDDRETH and Thursey his wife after my wife's death all my land and my stock of hogs at my death also our bureau on the following conditions that he, Abe, A. SUDRETH and his wife Thursey live with me and my wife and tke care of us so long as we both shall live and in two years after the death of my wife to pay my five daughters $25 each. That is to say Elizabeth, Susannah, Cecelia, Mabel and Mary which sums of money my son in law and daughter Thrusey pay out of their own money and not out of any part of the estate.

Item the Seventh: I nominate and appoint Abram A. SUDDRETH and George SMITH my executors of this my last will and testament revoking all former wills by me made. In testamony hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 20th day of June 1850.
