...My Grandfather was SIMONE SHERRELL, married to VIOLA SMALL SHERRELL, my father was BERTIE SHERRELL. As I was going through his personal belongings I believe I ran across a letter from you asking for information about the family. There are many more of us now and would like to add to your list.

4-A pic of mu Uncle J. GLENN SHERRILL, president and treasurer of the Krystal Co. (ii is his death notice). He was the son of SAMUEL NEWTON SHERRILL, My Fathers Brother.

5-A letter from EMMETT SHERRILL To CECIL BROWDER dated Sept. 29, 1918.

6-My Fathers discharge from the army dated Sept. 26, 1999. (SIC)

Re: SILAS WASHINGTON (?) SHERRELL

Could there be two SILAS WASHINGTON SHERRELLS? My great grandfather was SILAS W. SHERRELL of Dent County, MO. He was born 8 Feb. 1844 in Tennessee. He married MARY MATILDA GILL (also shown in error as McGill) in Dent County on 26 Nov. 1876. While in Salt Lake City recently I noticed that in a listing of JOSEPH GILL, MARY MATILDA'S father it refers to her as Mrs. SILAS WASHINGTON SHERRELL. (Ozark Heritage, Dent County, Salem, Missouri, Volume One, 1978, page 227) This is the first time I have seen a reference to his full middle name.

My SILAS W. SHERRELL can be found in Volume Two on page 270 just above Donna's listing for WILLIAM S. SHERRELL. I have not noted any connection between these two families. There was yet another SHERRELL family in Dent County according to the 1880 Census and that was the family of ISAAC SHERRELL in Franklin Township. I think they were related to our SILAS. Anyway I note that your site shows a SILAS WASHINGTON SHERRELL in Missouri in a different county and clearly a different person so I was wondering if there might be some kind of a mix up with the names.
