The latest edition of the Story of Schnake is available, most recent update February 2007. The illustration above is of the cover insert that is on the front of the notebook.
I can also offer the full version on CD It will be in three formats: .pdf to be read with Adobe Acrobat; Microsoft Word (versions 2000-2007 will read it and maybe even Word 97); .xps, which is a new (as of February 2007) Adobe-like format being offered by Microsoft in an attempt to challenge Adobe Acrobat.

Above is the cover insert for Story of Schnake by Roy Johnson. The pictures
are (top) the church the Schnakes attended at Bergkirchen (Left) the village
of Bergkirchen (Right) the Schnake house at #19 Unterluebbe, built in 1848,
demolished some time after 1958. (Bottom) The Bremen ship Ocean.
Minnie Schnake, brother to Karl Ludwig Hermann Schnake, came to America
on this ship. This insert will be placed in the plastic insert slot in the
cover of the loose leaf notebook that I am purchasing and including (unless
you want to buy your own--see prices below)
These and many more pictures are included and explained in the book.)
About 150 pages with many black and white and color pictures; 21 of the picture pages are in color. Photocopied on acid-free paper. (I have an inkjet printer but inkjet ink is very acidic and fades quickly. Photocopy toner is more durable and although color copying is expensive (about $1.00 per page), it is well worth the extra expense.) There will also be a color cover, as shown above. I will also provide acid free inserts for the notebook, but you can do the inserting.
The book centers on the Schnake family of Karl Ludwig Hermann Schnake and the branch of the Schnakes who came from the village of Unterluebbe, particularly farmstead no. 19. However, it also contains much information on other Schnake lines and the pictures and general history would be of interest to all Schnakes and perhaps even other families of this area.
The Schnake book will also be on line (eventually) on SchnakeNet, http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com. You will be able to find it by scrolling the main page. For those who do not wish a version to pass on to descendents (possibly because this is not your line), this online version should be adequate.
CD ROM version--Contains Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) version, Microsoft Word version ,-- $6.00 shipping/handling 2.00.
