41. Photo Willem(William) Pater1,2 was born on 10 Feb 1841 in Doornspijk, Netherlands.3 He emigrated in 1867. In 1910 he was Farmer in Waupun, WI, USA. He died on 24 Feb 1922 in Waupun, Fond Du Lac, WI, USA. DEATH CALLS WM. PATER Death called William Pater at his home in the city Friday afternoon, February 24th, at an age of 81 years and 18 days. He was a native of The Netherlands, but came to America 54 years ago settling in Alto. He lived there until twelve years ago when he moved to the city. His wife preceded him in death June 3, 1919. Surviving are six sons and two daughters, Henry, Andrew, Albert, George, William and Harry Pater, and Mrs. Nick Dykgraff(should be de Graff MRS 1/25/1997) and Mrs. Henry Wilderman, all of this community. Mr. Pater was a man of quiet happy nature and had many friends in the community. This was attested by the large number attending his funeral held from the home at 1 o'clock and from the Reformed church at 1:30 on Monday afternoon. Rev. William Walvoord officiated and interment was beside his late wife in Forest Mound.

Willem(William) Pater and Matje(Metje) Hop were married in 1869 in Wisconsin. Photo Matje(Metje) Hop (daughter of Hendrik Hop and Cornelisje Bonestroo) was born on 24 Dec 1846 in Hulshorst, Netherlands. She emigrated in Aug 1868. She died on 2 Jun 1919 in Waupun, Fond Du Lac, WI, USA. Called by Death.---Mrs. William Pater. At her home in the city on Tuesday morning, June 2nd, 1919, occurred the death of Mrs. William Pater at the advanced age of 72 years, 5 months and 11 days. She was a native of the Netherlands where she was born on Dec. 22nd, 1846. She came to America and for many years her home was in Alto. They moved to the city ten years ago buying a place on East Franklin street where she has since resided. Surviving are the aged husband and a family of married children-Mrs. Mary Wilderman, Henry, William and George Pater of this city, Andrew Pater of East Waupun, Albert Pater of Berlin, Mrs. Dick DeGraaf and Harry Pater of Alto. Funeral services will be held from the home at 1:30 today and at 2:00 o'clock from the Reformed church, Rev. W. C. Walvoord officiating. Interment will be in Forest Mound cemetery.
