Waukesha and MPI International Inc., Lake Mills, WI. He was an avid golfer.
Survived by his mother, Audrey Schwensow, Juneau, WI; one sister Lynette
Bartlett, Juneau; one brother, Greg Heyden, Brookfield, WI; special friend,
Betty Baumann, Watertown; also two nephews. Preceded in death by his father.

Of Rhinelander, WI. Age 89 years died Sun., June 22, 1997 at his home. He was
born June 3, 1908, in Annandale, MN, the son of Miles B. Hively and Emma
Gille Hively, was raised in Brainard, MN, and worked there until 1943 when he
joined the US Navy serving until the end of WWII. He moved his family back to
Brainard. In 1950 they moved to Milwaukee, WI, and he worked at AO Smith
until his retirement in 1970. Chet and Freda then resided at their home on
Borden Lake in Garrison, MN until 1986 when they moved to Rhinelander, WI.
Chet was a life member of the VFW in Garrison MN and Rhinelander, WI; of the
Smith Steel Workers Local 19806 AFL-CIO.
Survivors include his wife Freda, daughter Barbara (Raymond) Schmeling,
Rhinelander; grandchildren Michael (Karin) Schmeling, Carole (Scott)
Patterson and Susan (James) Cox; great-grandchildren Rebecca, Rachel, Barbara
and Zachary; sisters, Doris Huber, Ione (Ed) Krueger. Chet was preceded in
death by son Jeffrey in 1964; sisters Etta, Mildred, Grace, Clara and Esther;
brothers Lester, William, Gilbert and Daniel.
