Obit - Jacob Riel Passed Away on Wednesday Jacob Riel, 77, died at 7:30 Wednesday morning, at the home of his son, Gerrit, who lives seven miles west of the city on the County Line road. Mr. Riel had been ill for about two weeks with pneumonia. Born Mar. 10, 1851, in Holland, Mr. Riel came to this country a good many years ago. He is survived by three sons, Gerrit, John, and Jacob, and one daughter. Funeral services will be held Friday at 12:30 from the home, and at 2 o'clock from the Alto Presbyterian church. The Rev. J.S.Ter Louw of this city will officiate.

DEATHS -- MRS. JACOB RIEL Mrs. Jacob Riel died at her home on the County Line road Friday evening at the age of 70 years. She was born Aug. 8, 1855, in Holland and grew to womanhood there. In February, 1882, she married Jacob Riel and they came to America and have resided near Waupun since. She is survived by her husband; three sons, Jacob of Fairwater, John of Trenton, and Garret of Alto; four daughters, Mrs. A. Van Loo of Alto, Mrs. George Pater and Mrs. Harry Pater of Waupun, and Mrs. Van Ruiswyk of Trenton; one sister, Mrs. A. Nummedor of Waupun; and twenty-one grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the residence at 12:30 Tuesday afternoon and from the Presbyterian Church at Alto at 2 o'clock. The Rev. B. Vis officiated and burial was at the Alto cemetery.

Riel passed away suddenly at the home of his brother-in-law and sister, Mr and Mrs. Harry Pater in the Town of Waupun. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 27, at 2:00 p.m. from the Beyers funeral home. Rev. William Rosenberg will officiate at the service and interment will be at the Alto Cemetery. The late Mr. Riel was born July 28, 1883, in Alto the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Riel. He was married November 5 1909 to Jennie Miller. Survivors are: one brother, John Riel of Waupun, three sisters, Mrs. Harry Pater of the Town of Waupun, Mrs. Henry Van Ruiswyk of Waupun and Mrs. Albert Van Loo of Alto. Preceding in death were: his parents, his wife; one brother and two sisters. The late Mr. Riel was a member of the First Reformed Church. He had farmed in the Town of Alton until 1935 and since that time had resided in the Town of Waupun. Obituary--Funeral services were held Saturday, June 30, at Kohls company funeral home for Mrs. Mary (Harry) Pater, 87, a resident of Continental Manor Nursing Home, Randolph. Mrs. Pater died Thursday evening, June 28, at Hillside hospital, Beaver Dam. She was born Oct. 25, 1885, in the town of Alto, the daughter of Jacob and Jesse Fidder Riel. She was married to Harry (Hendrikus) Pater in 1912 in the town of Alto. He preceded her in death Feb. 16, 1964. The couple farmed in the town of Waupun most of their married life. She was a member of First Reformed Church. Survivors include one brother, John Riel, Waupun; two sisters, Mrs. Henry Van Ruiswyk and Mrs. Albert Van Loo, both of Waupun; and nieces and nephews. 	iv.	John RIEL was born on Apr 25, 1888 in Alto Twp, Fond du Lac Co, WI, USA. He died on Aug 18, 1976 in Alto Twp, Fond du Lac Co, WI, USA. OBIT -- John Riel, 88, 127 Fond du Lac St, died Wednesday evening, Aug. 18, at Waupun Memorial Hospital. He was born April 25, 1888, in the Town of Alto, a son of Jacob and Jacoba Fedders Riel. He married the former Winnie Searvogel Sept. 23, 1914 , in Waupun. The couple farmed in the Alto area, and later Mr. Riel became employed by The Shaler Company where he retired in 1955. Mr. Riel was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church. Survivors include six sons, James, Clarence, Wally, Garret, Marvin and Wilbert all of Waupun; four daughters, Mrs. Janet Streekstra and Mrs. Orville Able both of Waupun, Mrs. Jo Ann Ver Straate of Oostburg and Mrs. Clifford Otte of Sheboygan Falls. Other survivors are numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters; Mrs. Ella Van Loo, Waupun; and Mrs. Jessie Van Ruisywk, Markesan. He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter, two brothers and three sisters. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Reformed Church, Waupun. The Rev. George Chermak officiated. Burial was in Alto Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, and at the church from noon until the time of service. Obituary-- Mrs. Jessie Van Ruiswyk, 84, a former resident of Waupun who lived at Riverdale Manor Nursing Home for the past three and a half years, died July 25 following a four month illness. Mrs. Van Ruiswyk was born July 3, 1893, in the town of Alto, a daughter of Jacob and Jacobus Fidder Riel. She was married to Henry Van Ruiswyk Nov. 18, 1914, in Alto. The couple farmed until his death in 1955 when she retired to Waupun. Survivors include three sons, William, Jacob, and James, all of Waupun; one daughter, Mrs. Gordon (Elizabeth) Bille, Waupun; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ella Van Loo, Waupun; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Emmanuel Reformed Church where she had been a member. The Rev. George Chermak officiated. Visitation was held at Kohls Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 4 to 9 p.m. Interment was in Forest Mound Cemetery. She was buried on Jul 27, 1977 in Forest Mound Cemetery, Waupun, Fond du Lac, WI, USA.
