Mary Ann Eisenbarth, who came to the St. Benedict area in 1892 from New York state, died Sunday, July 24, at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Mason City at the age of 96.
Last rites for Mrs. Eisenbarth were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Cecelia's Catholic Church with Msgr. W.B. Bauer the celebrant. Burial was in the St. Benedict cemetery, Geilenfeld-Schaaf-McCullough Funeral Service of Algona in charge of the arrangements.
Casket bearers were Darold Simmons, Mark Eisenbarth, Michael Cink, James Jones, Ted Kenne and Ronald Arndorfer.
Born at Brooklyn, New York on November 18, 1880, Mary Ann was a daughter of John and Dorothy Heimback Klein. She came to the St. Benedict area with her parents at the age of 12 and attended school there. She was married to Isodore Eisenbarth at St. Benedict November 22, 1904 and the couple farmed in that area until 1946 when they retired from the farm. Mr. Eisenbarth died April 3, 1963.
She is survived by six children: Dorothy M., Mrs. Roman Arend, Algona; Christine, Mrs. Lawrence Kenne, Mankato; Mrs. Adelaide Simmons, Mrs. Rosalia Cink and Henry Eisenbarth, all of Algona. There are nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
She was a member of St. Cecelia's Catholic Church, St. Cecelia Guild and the Legion of Mary. She was buried on 26 Jul 1977 in St. Benedict Cemetery, St. Benedict, Kossuth, IA. Isadore Eisenbarth and Mary Ann Klein had the following children:
