Wife finds Husband Dead in the Snow at Perryville

Harrison Hodge, 77, stricken with Heart Disease near barn - Veteran of Civil War

Canastota - Dec. 17 - Harrison Hodge, 77, a farmer residing near Perryville, died suddenly to-day of heart disease.

Mr. Hodge went to the barn about 10 o`clock this morning. At noon Mrs. Hodge looked toward the barn and saw her husband lying face down in the snow.

The body was removed to the house. Dr. R. Joy of Canastota was summoned and when he arrived pronounced the man dead. He said life probably had been ---- an hour before the body was discovered. Undertaker J.H. McMahon and Coroner S.T. Barton were called. The coroner, after investigating the circumstances, gave heart disease as cause of death.

Surviving besides his widow is a daughter, Mrs. Carrie Duffy, who lives at home, one brother, Dwight Hodge of this village and one sister Mrs. Wealthy Taber of Constantia.
