Hazel Whipple Cleveland

Hazel Whipple Cleveland, of Helena, Ark., 99, formerly of Lake Placid, died Thursday at the Helena Regional Medical Center, Helena Ark.

A native of Constantia, she lived in Lake Placid 70 years before moving to Arkansas six years ago. She was a member of the Adirondack Community Church and the United Methodist Women in Lake Placid. Her husband, J. Grover, died in 1975. Her brother, Max Whipple, died earlier this year.

Surviving are two sons, Grover B. and Paul M., both of Quartzsite, Ariz.; a daughter, Clara Bass of Marvell, Ark.; a sister, Edna Halsey of Southampton; 26 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Constantia Center Baptist Church, Bernhards Bay. Burial is in Constantia Center Cemetery.

A calling hour is 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, County Route 17, Bernhards Bay.
