Before 1708
Settlers from Germany and Switzerland arrived in North America
before 1708 but I have not found any records of Seiler or its equivalents in the record of this period.
1709/10 Palatines on the Hudson River
In 1709/10 a large group from the
Palatine fled to
England and were sent to the Province of New York by Queen Anne and
they were settled
along the Hudson River. Later, many of these people made their way to
Pennsylvannia. Again no Seiler is found in the extensive records of
this
migration.
It is not till the ship lists of Philadelphia, beginning in 1727, that
we
find Seiler's showing up in the record. Contact me if you know of
