My Main Quaker Page Image of a page from the oldest book West Lake Meeting was a Quaker (Society of Friends) meeting located at Bloomfield, Prince Edward County. The transcribed books are held at the Canadian Yearly Meeting Archives of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) at Pickering College, Newmarket, Ontario. The archival code was developed while the books were held at the University of Western Ontario. The C is for Conservative; O for Orthodox and H for Hicksite. This refers to the group that last owned the book after the separations of 1828 and 1881. The archives holds many more books for the other regions of Upper Canada/Ontario. Many records have not survived. The list below identifies all the West Lake Meeting books and Registers held by the Quaker Archives in Newmarket. Those with blue links were transcribed between Oct 2005 and Apr 2006 under the coordination of Randy Saylor. The transcriptions have been donated to the Quaker Archives and are posted on The Quaker Archives and Dorland Library web site. Click on "Resources and Articles" and scroll down a bit. A more or less complete list of Minute Books and Registers held by the archives is printed in this 1975 Newsletter. All newsletters are available at the Canadian Friends Historical Association (CFHA) web site - click on Publications. Become a supporter by joining CFHA. The links below will take you directly to each book at the Archives web site. Use the "binocular" icon to search each book. |
