| The First Regiment of the Militia
in Prince Edward County was formed in 1800 followed in 1804 by Hastings
Militia Regiment. Over the years more regiments were formed and they combined in 1920 to form the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment. They are well known as the Hasty P's and the Plough Jockeys. See Wikipedia for another short history. |

1850 militia records offer another source of identifying inhabitants,
almost always men, at a certain location and date. Sometimes ages and Lot and Concession are recorded. Below are transcriptions of original documents that I have found in my research. I will try to not do records that are already transcribed somewhere else. |
