Marion Cronk,
b. 1910 is living in a nursing home in Prince Edward County.
On her behalf, Gord Moran has donated an extensive collection
of Quaker related journals, account books, letters, books and
photographs to the
Canadian Yearly Meeting (Quaker) Archives. Marion and her
family have deep roots in the West Lake Meeting. A few years ago Marion had expressed her desire to Jane Zavitz Bond, CYM archivist, that the items be deposited with the archives. The material came to light when Janet Kellough, transcriber with the Quaker Project, wrote an article about the project and expressed the hope that other material might exist in Prince Edward County. Gord read the article in the local paper and called Randy Saylor and, as we say, the rest is history. The fonds was turned over on Jan 22/06. The inventory is posted at Quaker Archives. |
