WHY WE ARE INTERESTED IN THIS FAMILY:
We are trying to establish the children of William and Hannah White who settled in Sidney Tp. from NY. It appears that Aaron White is related in some unknown way to this couple. See the Talcott story below.

Aaron White was born 1766 in 16. 6mo. 1766, Dutchess Co., NY, and died 1853 in 12. 4mo. 1853, Wellington, PEC.  He married Mary Palmer April 15, 1787 in Bangall, Dutchess Co, NY, daughter of Ebenezer Palmer and Elizabeth Bowerman.  She died 1836 in 7 mo. 1836, Ameliasburgh

Aaron White may be distantly related to Cornelius White of Hallowell. See the Talcott story below in the notes.
Check out my World Connect Family File for descendants of the above.

QUAKER STREET, NY
The Religious Society of Friends, also known as Quakers, arrived in Duanesburg in the late 1700s, migrating mostly from Dutchess County. They leased land from the "Duane Grant" and settled in the area which eventually became known as Quaker Street. Their first building was a log Meeting House. They eventually purchased property from James C. Duane, son of James Duane and built the present Meeting House in 1807, just a short distance away from the original log building. In the earlyhttp://www.houzz.com/Countertop-above-washer-and-dryer days a folding partition, through the center of the building, was raised and lowered by means of pulleys and ropes, because the men and women usually entered and sat on opposite sides of the room. They sat on plain wooden benches, now with cushions. The same cast iron box stoves from the log building were installed in the new building. Later a porch was added across the front of the building. A carriage shed and burial ground are still on the property. During the period of the "Underground Railroad" various Quaker homes in the community provided food and shelter to runaway slaves from the South.

AARAN WHITE - CORNELIUS WHITE
Philip Talcott, the youngest son of Elisha, owns and occupies the old homestead, which is now, with its modern buildings, fine orchard and maple woods, an ideal farm and home. He has never sought or accepted a public office. His wife was Delia, daughter of Stanley White, and great-granddaughter of Arran White, who was related to Cornelius White, so that these two old families are again united.
