I am seeking information on my elusive ggggrandfather, Sam "Huston" Alexander and his wife, Catherine Manerva ABBOTT (ABBETTS). They were married in TN in approximately 1855-6. They had several children. Twin girls, Ella Belle and Mary "Molly" born July 4, 1857, a son Monroe and some younger who's names I don't have. In Jan. of 1881, Ella Belle married John Calvin PATTON son of Samuel Donald (or Donnell) PATTON and Elizabeth SANFORD. They had four (4) children, Edith, b. 1885; Jessie Pearl, b. 1881; Maybelle Clara, b. 1883; and Claud, b. 1890. Ella Belle died, but according to family lore asked her sister, Mary "Molly" to marry her husband, John Calvin PATTON and rear her children. Mary/Molly and John Calvin PATTON were married in Jan. of 1891, in TN. Ella & Mary (Molly's) brother, Monroe ALEXANDER, married Nancy PATTON, sister of John Calvin PATTON. Searching for parents of my great grandfather John Alexander. He married Catherine Ash Feb 23. 1856. Tradition suggest that John's parents were not married and that he took his mother's surname (Alexander) and that the father's surname may have been Allison. I find John on the 1860 census (Jackson Co NC) and every census until his death 1910, but I haven't found him on any earlier census. |

My Alexanders seem to have come from Iredell/Alexander counties but three boys came to Rutherford Co in the early 1830s, married, had kids, remarried and 2 died quite young. The girls left at home married into Stewart, Elliot and Moose lines. I have only been at this for about 18 months but have made remarkable headway thanks to sites like this. I appreciate all your hard work. |

I have a marriage date of 1804 (Elizabeth & Thomas Underwood) in Richmond. Since the children I have are different from those listed on this site, I would like to hear from any Underwood descendants to see if these are the same people. I have a burial date for Thomas Underwood as September 1, 1843, Shockoe Cemetery, Richmond and burial date for Elizabeth as April 29, 1849, also in Shockoe. Would appreciate any information. |

I am a decendant of William Smiley Pharr Henderson, who was the son of Robert Harvey Henderson. William had several kids, three of which moved to Arkansas. One of them was my great grandfather, Charles Walter Pharr Henderson. Gilbert Angie Henderson was one of the brothers who moved to Arkansas. He lived with my great grandfather and his family for a period of time. Gilbert died around the age of 41 and is buried in Pine Bluff, AR. He never married. The other brother who moved to Arkansas (his name escapes me at this time) also had a family. I will write later and provide information about his family. Some of them are still in Arkansas. One is a dentist in Fayetteville, AR. My great grandfather, Charles, married Katie Mae Elkins, and had one child, Elia Ouida Henderson. She was my grandmother. She married Carlton Newton Hope, and they had one son, Robert Carlton Hope. He is my dad. My father married Patsy Jo Colley, and had two kids, John Robert Hope (me) and Marci Danette Hope. All The records I have for James do not list town of birth, just the state. Also no parents names are given. James migrated to Australia about 1856. Not much else is known about him. He is listed as being colored on most records. Can send a Gedcom file if needed. |

I am a direct link to a Booker family. I don't know much about my family except that my father's name is Calvin D. Booker II His father's name is Theodore Marcus Booker or Marcus Theodore Booker. My grandmother nevered married him. It's been a dead search! My father was born in Chesterfield County, Va He was born 1/30/44 If anyone knows anything about this name PLEASE HELP!! |

JOHN CRAWFORD, born 1600 in Ayrshire, Scotland was killed during Bacon's Rebellion 1676 He had the following children: David Crawford daughter Sarah Crawford b 12 MAY 1666 in ,Amherst,VA and d 1753 in Fredericksville Parish,Louisa,VA m'd 1st Thomas Poindexter After the death of Thomas Poindexter in about 1705, she remarried Rev. James Beechin and had at least 7 children. Rev. Beechin was Priest of an established church at Caple Parish, Westmoreland Co., VA. |
